Bart Van Praag

Title: CEO and President / Co-Founder

Prior to founding Dovetail Integrated Systems, Bart worked in the construction and engineering industry for over 18 years. Most recently, he created and led the biopharmaceuticals business unit at Synthon BV, a privately held, vertically integrated Dutch pharmaceutical company with office, laboratories and production facilities located throughout Europe, Australia and the Americas. While in this position, Bart was responsible for directing a staff of 100 in the development of three new biopharmaceutical products with a projected market potential of $1.1 billion.

William (Bill) Jacobsen

Title: Chief Technology Officer

Bill has over 25 years experience in biotechnology manufacturing and operations. He has played key roles in the start-up, validation and operation of cell culture facilities at Genzyme, TKT and EMD Serono ranging from pilot to full-scale manufacturing. Mr. Jacobsen led the effort that established biologics manufacturing capabilities to support the EMD Serono New Biological Entities product pipeline. Most recently he led the $20M capital expansion for a newly established Contract manufacturing organization. Mr. Jacobsen received his BS in in-Vitro Cell Biology from the State University of New York at Plattsburgh.

Gregg J. Pacchiana

Title: Co-Founder and Board Member

Gregg is the president of Thalle Construction which has revenues of $75 million. He has 20 years of experience managing highly technical, schedule-driven infrastructure projects requiring expertise in permitting, logistics, cost control and financing. Gregg represents DoveTail in the US and handles local partner and investor relations. Gregg has a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Villanova University and an MBA from Duke University.

Vincent Aurentz

Title: Chairman of the Board

Vincent has over 23 years of experience in the life sciences industry. He has served in executive leadership positions in both biopharmaceutical and services companies as well as Management Consulting and Venture Capital. Most recently he was executive vice president of the Customer Solutions Business at Quintiles. Prior to this, Vincent was an executive vice president and board member at Merck Serono (division of Merck KGaA) where he was responsible for corporate development and corporate venturing, all R&D product teams, Portfolio management. Vincent has extensive experience in deal structuring and strategic transactions, including M&A and venture capital. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from Villanova University and has completed executive management programs at Duke University, Hong Kong University of Science & Technology, INSEAD and Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern.

CEO, Microfluidics International Corporation, X-Rite, and Marine Optical Group. Michael successfully grew Microfluidics’ income by 226% during his tenure and successfully engineered the company’s merger with IDEX. In addition, he launched the innovative, award-winning PureNanoTM/MRT, which has the potential to become the backbone for continuous manufacturing in the pharmaceutical and energy sectors. Michael brings decades of experience in creating value in companies and positioning them for acquisition.

Gijs va Dedem

R&D Section Manager, Downstream Processing, Dyosynth from 1993-2002. R&D Program Manager Biochemistry, Diosynth, Oss, from 2002-2005. Gijs also served as professor of analytical biochemistry at Delft University of Technology, Kluyver Institute of Biotechnology from 1996-2006.

Marten Wiersma

Vice President, Global Quality API/Biotech, Organon/Schering Plough. Marten is responsible for the quality and regulatory unit API, Quality Unit Biotech, and document management department within API/Biotech in the Netherlands, and the quality units of API/Biotech for sites in France, USA, UK, Mexico and Brazil.

Anthony Hattey

Anthony currently serves as the CEO of the Adynt Group which provides global technology implementation and outsourcing services. Adynt has a presence in over 60 countries and also designs and manufactures the IndiPAD brand of Android-based tablets.
