VP Sales

  • Establish and maintain industry contacts and sources that identify and lead to the successful development of new business.
  • Qualify, initiate and complete the sales cycle in an aggressive time-frame.
  • Develop and execute selling strategies.
  • Coordinate closely with marketing in lead generation and nurturing efforts.
  • Represent the company at meetings, events and conferences.
  • Create and deliver sales presentations.
  • Maintain and understand current industry trends and business developments that affect target markets.
  • Maintain awareness of our competitors’ strengths and weaknesses.
  • Utilize contact management software to monitor, analyze, & communicate sales data to the CEO and executive management team.
  • Manage budget within corporate guidelines.
  • Coordinate with executive management team to ensure tactical and strategic goals of the organization are achieved.
  • Assist in recruiting, hiring, developing and managing a sales team as company growth requires.

Job Requirements

The ideal candidate will have 8 years of specific experience calling on and selling to R&D companies and CMOs in the pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical industries. As such, he/she will have proven relationships with companies in our target market segments. Candidate must have a proven track record of success implementing business development efforts, to include hitting and or exceeding revenue targets. Experience in the Asian markets is a plus.
Ability to read, analyze and interpret technical quotes and specifications, legal documents and government regulations pertaining to the industry is essential. Candidate must be conversant with applicable regulations and industry standards governing biopharmaceutical manufacturing. Ability to multi-task, work in challenging situations, meet deadlines and work independently is required.

Strong verbal/written communication and presentation skills, as well as competent skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and the development of Power Point presentations are essential for success. Proficiency with CRM and marketing automation products is preferred.
Candidate should have the desire to work in an unstructured, new-entity environment with nascent infrastructure and also seek to influence our emerging corporate culture.
Education: Minimum of a bachelor’s degree, preferably in life sciences or engineering. MBA or advanced degree preferred.
